Aspen Supports Kids (ASK) is AVSC's recreational division and serves as the foundation for all AVSC programming. It is where young athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of skiing and snowboarding alongside their local peers in an affordable group lesson environment.
ASK programming emphasizes skill-based development rather than terrain-based progression, ensuring athletes build strong fundamentals at every stage. Programs are available for children ages 3½ through 12th grade and are offered in three-, six-, eight-, and twelve-day formats across Buttermilk, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, and Aspen Mountain.

All ASK programs are taught by Aspen Skiing Company's highly qualified ski and snowboard professionals, providing exceptional instruction in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.

Beginning at age seven, athletes who have reached Level 7 in skiing or snowboarding have the option to transition into one of AVSC's competitive TEAM programs or continue progressing through the ASK pathway. Whether an athlete's goal is lifelong recreational enjoyment or competitive skiing and riding, ASK provides a place for every child to learn, grow, and thrive.

PRESEASON

SNOBANDITS FULL DAY – 3 days skiing I Snowmass I Age 4* - Grade 2 I Levels vary

  • Overview: Be the first on the hill with this 3-day preseason session on Snowmass!  Great program to build days of instruction when combined with any of our full-season programs. 
  • 26/27 Dates: December 5, 6, 12 | 2 Saturdays & 1 Sunday
  • Who: Skiers
  • Age/Eligibility:
    • Kindergarten – Grade 2; All levels
    • Pre-Kindergarten 4 years old (*must be 4 on or before September 1, 2026) AND Level 4 or above.
  • ​Time: 9:00am – 2:30pm (5.5 hour lesson) 
  • Where: Base Village Snowmass
  • Details: 
    • Lunch included in program fee.
    • Lift ticket for lesson days only is included in the price of the program. 
    • No scholarships are available, but payment plans can be arranged.
    • Equipment is not included.
    • No refunds due to early season ski conditions.
    • Please join the waitlist if spaces are full at the time of registration.

SNOBANDITS HALF DAY – 3 days skiing I Snowmass I Age 3.5 - Pre-K I All Levels

  • Details:
    • Snack time offered in the half day lessons through the Treehouse; athletes to bring their own snacks that can fit in their ski jacket pockets or fanny pack.
    • Lift ticket for lesson days only is included in the price of the program. 
    • No scholarships are available, but payment plans can be arranged.
    • Equipment is not included.
    • No refunds due to early season ski conditions.

SNOBANDITS CROSSOVER FULL DAY  – 3 days Snowboarding I Snowmass I Grades 1-8 I Never ever - Level 1

  • Overview: INTRO TO SNOWBOARDING - Does your child want to try snowboarding? AVSC is excited to be offering a 3-day program for brand new snowboarders at Snowmass this winter.  This program is designed for kids who have never snowboarded and want to give it a try!
  • 26/27 Dates: December 5, 6, 12 | 2 Saturdays & 1 Sunday
  • Who: Brand New Snowboarders
  • Age/Eligibility: Grade 1 - 8; Never ever - Level 1 
  • Time: 9:00am – 2:30pm (5.5 hour Lesson)
  • Where: Base Village Snowmass
  • Details: 
    • Lunch included in program fee.

    • 2nd – 5th Grade Location: Two Creeks
  • Details:
    • Lunch included in program fee.
    • There are lessons over MLK weekend.
    • There will be no lessons on President’s Day Weekend

    • Scholarships available. 
    • No transportation on Saturday. Transportation provided on Sunday only. Limited space available.
    • All beginners (level 1 – 3 skier & level 1 – 5 snowboarder) in Grades 1- 12 must sign up for Snowarrior Buttermilk Programs.

  • 26/27 SUNDAY Dates: January 10, 17, 24, 31 February 7, 21, 28 March 7
  • Who: Skiers and Snowboarders
  • Age/Eligibility: Grades 2 – 12 | Skiers: Level 4 or above | Snowboarders: Level 4 or above
    ** PRIORITY TO THOSE THAT QUALIFY FOR TRANSPORTATION**
  • Time: 9:00am – 2:30pm (5.5 Hour Lesson)
  • Where: Snowmass Two Creeks
  • Transportation: Free transportation from down valley bus stops based on availability.  Please apply for a seat in the registration process.
  • Details:
    • Lunch included in program fee.
    • There are lessons over MLK weekend.
    • There will be no lessons on President’s Day Weekend.
    • Lift ticket for lesson days only is included in the price of the program. 
    • Scholarships available.
    • Down valley transportation available based on availability.
    • All beginners (level 1 – 3 skier & level 1 – 5 snowboarder) in Grades 1- 12 must sign up for Snowarrior Buttermilk Programs.

BUTTERMILK PROGRAMS

WAHOO SUNDAYS – 6 days skiing I Age 4* I Level 4 or above

  • 26/27 Dates: January 17, 24 February 7, 21, 28 March 7
  • Who: Skiers
  • Age/Eligibility: Limited capacity: Pre-Kindergarten (*must be 4 on or before September 1, 2025) AND Level 4 or above. 
    • Athlete must show readiness for full day ski program as well as skill development of a level 4.
  • Time: 8:45 am – 2:15 pm (5.5 Hour Lesson)
  • Where: Buttermilk Hideout
  • Details:
    • All athletes will be required to bring their own lunch in a lunch sack or brown paper bag.  Shelter will be provided where athletes will eat lunch in the Hideout or Cliff House.
    • Lessons open on MLK weekend.
    • There will be no lessons over X-Games and President’s Day Weekend.
    • Lift ticket for lesson days only is included in the price of the program. 
    • No scholarships are available, but payment plans can be arranged.
  • Program Fee: $865 on or before October 1st; $935 after October 1st.

  • Time: 8:45 am – 2:15 pm (5.5 hour Lesson)
  • Where: Buttermilk Hideout

BIGHORNS HYBRID – 8 days skiing I Kindergarten & Grade 1 I Level 6 or above | 4 days Buttermilk & 4 days Highlands

  • Overview: Perfect option for skiers looking for a mixed mountain experience of 4 days on Buttermilk and 4 days on Highlands.  Geared towards skiers who are ready for the challenge of Highlands and who are already a strong level 6 skier but also love the energy and magic of Buttermilk.  
  • 26/27 Dates: January 9 (BM), 10 (BM), 24 (HL), 31 (HL) February 6 (BM), 21 (HL), 27 (BM) March 7 (HL)
    • Opening weekend is a double header, Saturday & Sunday on Buttermilk
  • Who: Skiers
  • Age/Eligibility:  Kindergarten – Grade 1| Level 6 or above I Grade based program; Not age based.
  • Time: 9:00 am – 2:30pm (5.5 hour Lesson)
  • Where: Base of Buttermilk & Aspen Highlands Base
  • Details:

  • Where: Highlands – AVSC Clubhouse
  • Details:
    • Lunch included in program fee.
    • There will be no lessons on Martin Luther King Weekend and President’s Day Weekend
    • Price does not include lift ticket.  Participants must purchase a full season AVSC pass through the Aspen Skiing Company. 
    • Scholarships available.
  • Program Fee: $1950 on or before October 1st; $2100 after October 1st.

ALL MOUNTAIN PROGRAMS 

ALL MOUNTAIN EXPRESS – 8 days skiing I Grades 5 - 8 I Level 5 or above

  • Overview: All Mountain Express Program is for skiers who want to experience the terrain on all four of our mountains under the guidance of great professional instructors in a fun, recreational group environment. This group will ski two days on each of our 4 mountains.  Skiers must be well-rounded and a strong level 5 or above.
  • 26/27 Dates: January 9, 10, 23, 30 February 6, 20, 27 March 6
    • Opening weekend is a double header, Saturday & Sunday
  • Time: 9:00 am – 2:30pm (5.5 hour Lesson)
  • Who: Skiers
  • Age/Eligibility: Grades 5 – 8 | Level 5 or above.
  • Where: Announced week to week and communicated via email.
  • Details:
    • Lunch included in program fee.
    • There will be no lessons on Martin Luther King Weekend and President’s Day Weekend
    • Lift ticket for lesson days only is included in the price of the program. 
    • Scholarships available.
  • Program Fee: $1330 on or before October 1st; $1435 after October 1st.

PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS - SNOWMASS AND BUTTERMILK 

WEEKDAY WAHOOS HALF DAY  – 6 days Skiing I Age 3.5 - Pre-K I All Levels

AVSC is offering Weekday Wahoo half day programming to local preschool classrooms and individual preschool children (open enrollment).  Please sign up for your school’s block noted below.  If your school did not create a block, you can sign up for the “open enrollment” spaces.  If you would like to add an additional lesson on a different day than your school’s block, you can sign up for any of the “open enrollment” spaces.

BLOCKS ARE STILL BEING FINALIZED AND WILL BE UPDATED AS THEY ARE CONFIRMED.

Who: Skiers

Aspen Supports Kids (ASK) Refund Policy: 100% Refunds are permitted before December 1, 2026. After December 1, 2026, refunds are only available for documented medical reasons that result in season-ending injury and will be prorated based on the number of days missed. Any season pass discounted through enrollment in AVSC will be voided upon withdrawal. All refunds are subject to a $50 processing fee.
