Buttermilk Glacier + Tramp Freestyle Ski Camps

  • Overview: Our continued summer on snow training at Buttermilk combined with trampoline work has been instrumental in our tremendous athletic success and have helped lower our injury rate. Each week will start with a goal-setting session to get focused and achieve the most out of our training. Buttermilk Glacier has attracted Snowboard, Mogul, Pipe and Park teams from UT and CO; we are proud to share our high-quality facility with other teams!
  • Session Schedule:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (3 Days),  9:00am-3:00pm

      • ​Session 1: June 3-5
      • Session 2: June 10-12
      • Session 3: June 17-1-9
      • Session 4: June 24-26
  • Who:
    • Freestyle Skiers  
    • Available to athletes enrolled in an AVSC part-time (Pre-Devo, Devo, ASK (Level 7+)) program or guest athletes. Enrolled in a full-time, year-round program? Contact your coach; Buttermilk Glacier is built into your training schedule.
    • Athletes must be at least 7 years old.  
    • Limited number of athletes per session to ensure quality training

  • Details:
    • Please make sure each athlete has an adequate snack, lunch and water bottle.

      • $425 per session for AVSC Athletes enrolled in Development Programs
      • $475 per session for Guest (non-AVSC athletes)

TRAVEL CAMPS

 

Ramp & Landing Bag Camps at the Utah Olympic Park - Session 1

  • Overview: AVSC Freestyle athletes will have the opportunity to attend Ramp & Landing Bag Camp at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) in Park City, Utah, a state of the art facility with multiple jumps in to an aerated (air bubbles to soften the water) pool.This year The UOP has re-opened the landing bag facility.  Landing bags are Airbags that skiers land on and ski off of.  This simulates snow jumping in an amazing way.  The UOP also has trampolines set up next to the pool.  This camp will give our athletes an additional chance to learn new tricks, keep sharp and give a little more time to work on things until we get back on snow.
  • Session 1 Details:
    • ​Dates: Jul 7 - 12 (training July 8,9,11,12)
    • Full Camp with lodging and travel: Age 12+: Includes travel, lodging and meals. 
      • Cost $1100. Athletes must be registered for a 2025 Comp Team Program.
    • Training at UOP (no lodging or travel option) 10 and older: UOP Camp and coaching only (travel, lodging and meals not included) 
      • Cost: $600 Athletes must be registered for a 2025 Comp Team Program (or with director approval).

    • Who:
      • Camp capacity: 10 for lodging with the team and 20 for non lodging option.
      • Available to athletes enrolled in a 2025 Comp Team Program (or with director approval).
      • Freestyle Freeride Comp Team athletes 10 and older.  12 and older for Travel and lodging with the team.
  • Where: Utah Olympic Park, Park City, UT. AVSC will rent a house or condo close to Park City and the UOP.  We will have team breakfast, dinners and pack lunches each day.

    • Training at UOP (no lodging or travel option) 10 and older: UOP Camp and coaching only (travel, lodging and meals not included) 
      • Cost: $500. Athletes must be registered for a 2025 Comp Team Program or withdirector approval.

    • Who:

Mt Hood Camp (AVSC Park and Pipe, Freeride Comp Team athletes only)

  • Overview: Athletes will depart Aspen on June 18th and spend that night in Boise, ID (where they will have a chance to check out Boise’s skate park). On June 19th, the team will make their way to Mt. Hood. Training will start on 20th, with 3 days on snow, 1 day off (with a potential daytrip to Portland), then 3 more days on snow; this schedule allows athletes to access 2 different park set ups as the venue does a park rebuild each Sunday. The last day of on-snow training is June 27th, afterwards, athletes will make their way back to Boise and finish the drive on the 28th. This is an amazing opportunity for athletes to maximize their in-season goals and to develop new skills for seasons to come!

    • Who: Freestyle Comp Team athletes Age 12 - 18
    • Camp Capacity - 15. Limited number of athletes per session to ensure quality training
  • Where: Mt Hood, Oregon

    •  $1,000 deposit required upon registration
    • Actual cost will be finalized and charged after camp is complete and will vary depending on number of athletes.

Las Leñas, Argentina Ski Camp

  • Overview: Our goal is to maintain the continuity of the AVSC freeride program by replicating the training conditions synonymous with Aspen. Participants will have access to the entirety of the ski resort's terrain, serving as their training playground. Led by Nacho Bertona and supported by Las Leñas guides, they will explore the expansive alpine terrain Las Leñas offers while honing their skills on its challenging slopes. Accommodations for the group will be situated at the mountain base, offering ski-in, ski-out convenience and all the amenities necessary for optimal training and relaxation. We are partnering with certified mountain guides and avalanche safety instructors, ensuring a significant focus on education, mountain decision-making, and avalanche safety throughout the program.

    • Dates: August 1st-14th, 2024
    • Who: AVSC Freeride Comp Team athletes Age 14- 18
    • Camp Capacity - 10. Limited number of athletes per session to ensure quality training
  • Where: Las Leñas. About Las Leñas: Las Leñas, nestled in the heart of the Andes, lies just 210 miles from Mendoza. Its self-contained town at the base area boasts a supermarket, restaurants, arcades, and comprehensive accommodations, offering everything needed for the entire stay without the need to go elsewhere. Renowned globally as a freeriding mecca, Las Leñas beckons with its unparalleled terrain and accessibility. Here, slopes cascade with over 2500 vertical feet drop and sustain a thrilling 45-degree pitch, all from the lift and to the lift making it an optimum ground for freeride training.
  • Program Details:
August 1: Arrival,
pick up at airport and 3,5 hs drive to Las Leñas.
August 2 to 13: Training at Las Leñas
The first three days of the training will be with the company of a Las Leñas mountain guide to learn about the
mountain and gradually work our way through the terrain.
Avalanche safety and rescue course with a certificated instructor.
Then there are going to be two other days throughout the training with a Las Leñas guide for activities like hiking or accessing in to more complex terrain.
Depending on the weather and forecast we are planning on doing a day of cat skiing.
August 14: Return.
Drive back to Mendoza’s airport.


  • Accomidations: The group will be staying in one of Las Leñas Hotels at the base of the mountain with breakfast and dinner included.
Lunch will be in Picnic style at the mountain.
There is a facility with pool tables and arcades for recreation. Accommodations for the group will be situated at the
mountain base, offering ski-in, ski-out convenience and all
the amenities necessary for optimal training and relaxation.
  • Cost: $6000 *estimate $1,000 deposit required upon registration
    • Actual cost will be finalized and charged after camp is complete and will vary depending on number of athletes.
    • Price includes Airline, travel, food, lodging, coach fees, guides and lift tickets.
