AGE CLASS OPEN GIANT SLALOMS - BEAVER CREEK - JANUARY 5-6, 2019
AVSC has been assigned to Beaver Creek for the Jan 5-6 Giant Slalom races. Beaver Creek is a fun mountain and they have a nice competition hill.  However, parking is difficult. You can either park at the mountain for $35 a day, park at the base of the access road for $10 (with free shuttle) or park for free in Avon and walk a short distance to the shuttle.
There are a few options for accommodations:
  • Stay at the base of the mountain.  This is the most convenient, as most everything is ski in - ski out.  Plus, you don't have to deal with transportation to the mountain.  The downside is that lodging at the mountain is much more expensive than in town.
  • Stay in Avon.  The coaches will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Avon.  We reserved a block of 15 rooms at the very good rate of $150 plus tax. (Normally $229).  To reserve one of the rooms, please call 970-949-5511 or 800-423-4374 and ask to make a group reservation in the Aspen Valley Ski Club - Family Block, or you may click on this link to the group block:  https://www.choicehotels.com/reservations/groups/AS94H8 The parents/friends and family rates is $150.00 single/double/triple/quad + $6.00 resort service fee and 12.4% tax per room, per night.
  • Make a day trip out of it.  Not such a bad idea if you live in Glenwood, but a little difficult if you live in Basalt or Aspen. If you do this, remember to account for the time it takes to park and shuttle.
AGE CLASS OPEN GS AND SL - KEYSTONE - FEBRUARY 23-24, 2019
For the Keystone races you may opt to stay at the base of the ski area or 15 minutes away in Silverthorne.  Or a tad further in Frisco or Georgetown.
The coaches are renting a condo near the base of the mountain.
We expect the races will be held off the Peru Express lift at the Mountain House base area.  There are ample lodging opportunities at the Mountain House area.  The River Run base area is about a mile from the lift.
There are many hotels in the Silverthorne / Dillon area, including Comfort Inn, LA Quinta, Hampton, etc.  There are plenty of dining and shopping options in the area.

U10 CHAMPIONSHIPS  – TELLURIDE – MARCH 8-10, 2019
Similar to last year, the Mountainside Inn in Telluride is offering a 5% discount for the U10 Championships from March 8th through the 10th. The property is located about 150 yards from the bottom of Lift #7 and the Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club (where race registration usually is). This is where the coaches will be staying.
The available rate is $141.55 / night plus tax. If you are looking for condos, they have a few available as well at the Cimarron Lodge which is right next door. Please call Chris Esch directly to make reservations.
