Alpine Spring Break Camp Prerequisites

To make the most out of the Alpine Spring Break ski racing camp experience for all involved, here are the basic requirements:
  • Level 7 or higher – I ski with controlled parallel turns, planting ski poles, maintaining rhythm, and controlling speed on groomed black runs.
  • 7-12 year olds - kids born in 2012 and older (we have to stick to these specific ages to form smaller cohesive groups that fit together – socially, developmentally, and ski ability wise)

This is a SKI RACING CAMP and we expect the kids to have a solid ski foundation so that we can work on race specific skills, drills and training in gates. This is a great way to test out the alpine program especially if you might be interested in joining us next year!

To help identify the requirements for your child at home, here are more specific guidelines:
  • My skis are always in parallel position, I can link parallel turns no problem!
  • I’m able to stop-on-a-dime (hockey stop!) on any run
  • I’m using my ski poles consistently (timing might still be off, but I know I need to plant my poles, especially in steep terrain and when making short turns)
  • I like going fast and want to ski race!
